TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 1953 Television Racing to Keep Citizens Hwne in Battle With Movie Industry HOLLYWOOD (UP)-- Television will unroll its not-so secret weapon in tie battle against the movies nexljmonth--- all the big-name stars it cin gather. Theaters are trying to lure in' the customers with 3-D and wide- screen epics. So TV is racing to kee the citizens home in the living-room. The new fall shows begin on TV in September with the networks lining up such filmsters as Ann Sothein, Joan Caulfield, Edmund O'Brien, Broderick Crawford, Sheridsn, Ray Milland, Ronald Colmar, David Niven, Dick Powell, Loretta Young, Celeste Holm, and Mickey Rooney.
