4C THE BRAZOSPORT FACTS Sunday, Augutt 20,1995 MILESTONES Engagements Hurta-Speers Anita Hurta of Temple announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Shannon Hurta of Richwood to Michael Speers of Richwood, son of Claudia Speers of Angleton and the late Maynard Speers. Miss Hurta is also the daughter of the late Johnnie Hurta. The wedding is planned for the evening of September 23, 1995 on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. Dietz-Bttrleson Joan Dietz of Clute announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Kristin Dietz of Lake Jackson to Edward Burleson Sr. of Lake Jackson, son of Shirley Atnip of Davenport, and Edward Burleson Sr.

of Black Rock, Ark. The wedding is planned for 5:30 p.m. August 26, 1995. Shandley-Sheehan Dr. and Mrs.

Sam Shandley of Lake Jackson announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Sheri Shandley to Greg Sheehan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sheehan of Lake Jackson. The wedding is planned for 7 p.m. September 16, 1995 at the Family Life Church.

Anniversaries Pugh-Hodges Jack and Frances Pugh of Kountze announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jacqueline Rae Pugh of Beaumont to Randall R. Hodges of Beaumont, son of Bennie and Ann Hodges of Lake Jackson. The weddjng is planned for 7 p.m. September 30, 1995 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Beaumont. Miss Pugh is a graduate of Kountze High School and is presently employed at Dillard's.

Mr. Hodges is a graduate of Brazoswood High School and Sam Houston State University with a B.B.A. degree in Marketing. He is employed as Personnel and Operations Manager at J.C. Penney's.

Allison-Unite Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Allison II are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Allison to Anselmo G. Unite, son of Dr. and Mrs.

Anselmo F. Unite of Lake Jackson. Beth and Sel graduated together from Southwestern University in Georgetown in 1992. Beth currently works as an accountant for the Texas Education Agency in Austin. Sel is in his senior year of medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

An October 7, 1995 wedding is planned in the bride's hometown of Sulphur Springs, Texas. Weddings Valdez Anniversary. Adrian and Francis Valdez Sr. of Lake Jackson will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary oa August 26, 1995. Mrs.

Valdez is the former Francis Lopez of Clute. The couple has three children. They are Adrian Aaron and Ashley Valdez all of Lake Jackson. Mr. Valdez is employed at Dow Chemical Co.

A celebration is planned for noon August 26, 1995 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church. Hardison-Rivera Lenard Aaron Rivera and Cathy Jean Hardison are happy to announce their recent union in marriage. Len and Cathy were married June 24 in Chama, New Mexico by family friend Judge Mary Jo Pina. The newlyweds wish to extend an open invitation to family and friends to a reception being held from 4 p.m.

to midnight Friday, September 1 at Stahlman Park in Surfside. Droesch-Cliffel Deborah Marita Droesch of St. Henry, Ohio and David Edward Cliffel of Lake Jackson were married on July 10, 1995 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in St. Henry, Ohio.

Father Jim Russell officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Robert and Shirley Droesch of St. Henry, Ohio. She is a graduate of the University of Dayton and is pursuing graduate studies in educational psychology at the University of Texas. The groom is the son of John and Patricia Cliffel of Lake Jackson.

David is a graduate of the University of Dayton in Ohio and is currently working on his doctorate in chemistry at the University of Texas. Jennifer Droesch of St. Henry, Ohio served the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kimberly and Karen Droesch. Phillip DeVries of Ludington, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Garry Prikokis and David Kass. Bridget and Anne Cliffel were liturgy facilitators, and Caryn Cliffel coordinated the music for the ceremony. Keith and Gracie Sprinkle served as ring bearer and flower girl respectively. After a honeymoon in St. Louis and the Ozarks, the couple now resides in Austin.

Guidry-Woodson Laura Ann Guidry and Clark Woodson III, both of Lake Jackson, were married on August 19, 1995 at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Lake Jackson. The Rev. Scott McKay officiated at the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Sharon Guidry of Lake Jackson. She is a graduate of West Columbia High School and received a B.A.

in Sociology from the University of Houston. The groom is the son of dark and Kathleen Woodson of West Columbia. He is a graduate of West Columbia High School and received a B.A. in Political Science at Southwest Texas State University. He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech School of Law, and is currently employed as an Associate Attorney in the law office of Gary McConnell in Angleton.

Billie Guidry of Lake Jackson served the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christy Park of Lake Jackson and Sharon Lipkins of Clute. Ashley Lipkins of Clute served as junior bridesmaid, and Kristin Park was the flower girl. Clinton Woodson of Houston served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Anthony Grice of Houston and Chris Blue of West Columbia.

Junior groomsman was Chas Thompson of West Columbia. Alan Christopher Lipkins of Clute served as ring bearer. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Brazosport Center for the Arts Sciences. After a honeymoon, the couple will reside in Lake Jackson. Prewitt is the former Mary Lee Bullard, daughter of Arthur and Willie Pace Bullard of Wharton. The couple has two children. They are Eugene Prewitt and his wife, Cherry of Fontain, and Arthur Prewitt Jr. and his wife Ruth of Vallejo, Calif. They also have a niece, Deborah Sue Jammer of Brazoria, whom they have raised from a five-month-old baby.

Mr. Prewitt is a retired construction worker from Monsanto in Chocolate Bayou. Mrs. Prewitt is retired from nursing. The couple celebrated their wedding anniversary with a trip to- Fontain, Colo..
