THE TERRE HAUTE STAR, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1965 Heloise Cruse Hints From Heloise DEAR HELOISE Afte reading the hint from a teacher concerning the method she used for teaching pupils to add (cut ting large numbers from a calendar and forming problem, on her table), I'd like to offe; my solution to that same prob lem: I taught my children to adc by using DOMINOES! This was so successful tha my daughter now uses this sam method with her children. Besides being educational, the children enjoy playing the game. MRS. G. WOODEN DEAR HELOISE Sandwich bags are ideal for storing quill pieces.

I keep pieces for each block in a separate bag. So handy to pick up in a few spare moments. SHARON MILLER DEAR HELOISE I've found another use for the plastic, snip-top detergent bottles. I fill one with liquid floor wax from the large container, anc just squeeze the bottle gently and it squirts out the exact amount of wax I need for each area of the floor. Another advantage is that I don't have to lug around tHe heavy can of wax.

HELEN CARPENTER DEAR GALS Ever reach for a clean dress in your closet when you were going somewhere in a hurry, and THOUGHT the dress had been washed and ironed or freshly cleaned, only to find out, too late that it was wrinkled or had a spot on it? True, you wore it only once, and it's wearable again SOME PLACES. I used to do this all the time until I learned that after I had worn a garment, if I would hang it back on the hanger WRONG- SIDE-OUT I could tell, at a GLANCE, that it had been worn before. Also saves on laundry, as I found that now I will invariably grab this garment first when Thanks so much for all you: useful hints you've made my life simpler. CLAIRE W. BAYER DEAR turn ing my sewing box upside down each time I needed some col ored thread, I hit upon the fol lowing solution: I strung 22 spools of differ cnt colored thread onto a piece of heavy cord, and tied the ends of the cord together.

Now I can find any color thread without any searching. just break off as much as need. The spool spins on the cord when pulling off the de sired length, so that it is nol necessary to remove a spoo! from the cord itself. When one color has been used, I just replace it with another. MRS.

A. E. TREVETHAN DEAR HELOISE Here is one of my son's favorite hot school lunches: I put two heated wieners in a wide-mouth vacuum bottle, then pour in hot SOUP! I put prepared (he likes mus- hot dog buns in a sandwich bag, and put a fork in his unch box to fish the wieners out of the soup, and a spoon to eat the soup with. Not only does he have a hot wiener on his bun, but the nice lot soup as well. MARTHA THOMPSON 19fi5.

Firemen spent 71 minutes at me on my toes trying to put and the scene during the morning keep all clean things in my closet.

I have also learned 10 turn sweaters wrong-sidc-out afler wearing them once! Remember that body oils rot and fade fabrics. Never pack anything away for a season that has not been properly washed or cleaned. By using" the Heloise method, you will know at a glance. FORGETFUL HELOISE DEAR HELOISE I have found so many uses for an oldj toothbrush, and today my handy toothbrush solved the problem of cleaning those corners of window panes that always elude the washing cloth. Now I really feel that my windows are clean.
