Damarcus also led the U.S. with five assists and scored the game-winning goal against Honduras in last year's qualification tournament for the U-17 World Youth Championship. "Damarcus scores a lot of quality goals for us under pressure," said Coach Ellinger.

He also was the No. 1 goalkeeper for the U-17 National Team in 1999, starting in each of its 19 matches and posting six shutouts en route to a 13-1-5 record. His goals-against average was 1.21. D.J.'s 47 international appearances leads the U-17 team. "Our team motto was to 'respect all but fear said D.J.
He has a 4.0 grade-point average and will attend UCLA in the fall. He also hopes to train with the Los Angeles Galaxy, a professional team, at the same time. Steve Cronin a junior who was D.J. Countess' fellow goalie at Bella Vista High was also on the U-17 National Team and is now the No. 1 goalie for the U-18 team.
