Fairbanks Daily Newt-Miner, Monday, June 29, 1964 9 Horse Show Honors Go To Anchorage Anchorage horses took most of the honors in the annual Midnight Sun Horse Show which concluded here Sunday at the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds. Over-all top performance horse, so designated by high point mark in all performance classes, went to Ivanhoe Sue owned and ridden by Bob Mc- Bnde of Anchorage. Miss Linda Lobred, also of Anchorage, took high honors in high point equitation on her horse Buck. A Fairbanks horse, Kake, owned by Judy Gustafson, won top points in the gymkhana class. Kake was ridden in all gymkhana events oy either Uebbie Davis or Pat Farrell.

Due to head injuries suffered in a tall from a jumping horse this spring, Judy was prevented from participating in the Wb'4 horse show. in a single performance ciass, testing the endurance and skill of both horse and rider, Flicka, ridden by Melody Kate, took first place. The performance class is designed to show the rider's control over the horse and is judged on performance, a and soundness, and appointments. The show was judged by James Blackwell, executive, secretary of The American! Horse Shows Association from' New York City. The show's! steward was Kenneth C.

Complete results will be pub- lished Tuesday. i DOUBLE TROUBLE-John Norris of Anchorage, riding his Arabian mare Gypsy Tambourine, was supposed to pick up ring master Bill Stevens and ride him out of the ring during the Sunday's finale of the Midnight Sun Horse Show.

This ride was part of the requirements of the trail horse class, one of 55 classes in the annual show. Gypsy had different ideas about two riders or, her back and bucked for all she was worth. John Norris stayed on.
