Lester Van Wey drove to Prairie du Chien Tues day morning to meet Mrs. Herman Sanderson and children of El Paso, Texas, who arrived there by train for a visit at the Van Wey home and other relatives in the area. Mrs. Leora Ambrose and Mrs Clara Stegen were Wednesday visitors at the Steve Baker home in Decorah. Clifford Ambrose of Forest City was a Sunday supper guest of Mrs.

Leora Ambrose. He came to attend the Snitker reunion at Waukon. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kram beer, and sons of Cresco were' Sunday supper guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Dick Hughes. Word from Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hughes and son that they are now settled in an apartment in California where he is stationed with the Navy.

Their address is 3737 Birch Street, San Diego, California. Mr. and Mrs. David Hughes and children were Sunday dinner guest of her mother, Mrs. Betty Ellison at Postville.

Mr. and Mrs. Lindy Frey attended the funeral of a friend at Volga on Monday morning. He was killed in a tractor accident Mr. and Mrs.

LaVern Cook and family of Decorah were Sunday supper guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perlie Cook. Mr. and Mrs.

Wilfred Kramer and boys of Langworthy were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kneeskern. Mr. and Mrs.

Alden Grinna and Steven of Decorah were visitors at the Kneeskern home, Sunday, July 27. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Ward and Shane were callers on Sunday, July 27, at the Earl Copas home at Boscobel, Wisconsin to see Fay's uncle, Clyde Ward, who was ill. He later passed away.

The Wards attended the funeral at Boscobel, Wednesday. A niece Pamela Copas accompanied the Wards for a visit at their home here. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Thompson and children of Zumbro Falls Minnesota were weekend guests of her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Les ter Snyder. Mr. and Mrs, Floyd Moore and family of Waterloo were Monday overnight guests at the Snyders. They were enroute to a north-bound trip.

Mrs. William Niles, Debbie and Robin of Dows, Iowa called on Mr. and Mrs. Leo Birdsell, Sun day. Her husband, the Rev.

Niles was a former pastor at the Frank ville church. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Reckward and daughters and Mr. and Mrs, Jerry Monroe joined Mr.

and Mrs, Donald Milka of Cedar Falls at a picnic dinner at Lansing, Sun day. Debbie Ellison and Jerrine Hughes accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Berg on their return to Cedar Rapids Sunday evening, where Debbie remained for a weeks visit with her sister, Mrs. Gary Stunes and Jerrine is guest at the home of her uncle, the Gordon Krambeers.

The Bergs spent the weekend in this ea. Word from Mr, and Mrs. Stanley Broadwater that they are both attending summer school at Texas A and I University at Kingsville, where they reside. Both are now Juniors. Stanley also assists at the Boys Clubs there.

He is still with the Navy Reserves, attending meetings a few blocks from their home. He also teaches a class there. Correction In the report on Alwin Frey's injuries we stated last week he had some toes removed; instead they were broken. Mr. and Mrs.

Lindy Frey and David called at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Frey at West Union on Thursday evening. So far they have not been able to set them, as they are still quite badly swollen. Mrs.

Gerald Blakeslee and sons of Boscobel, Wisconsin were Wednesday guests of her parent, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Koenig. Mr. and Mrs.

Don Koenig and Kevin left Sunday to return to their home in Wayne, Nebraska. After returning from their western vacation trip they were guests of his parents. On Sunday they were all guests at a picnic dinner at the Bernell Anderson home near Postville. Mr. and Mrs.

Leo Birdsell went to Northwood on July 18, to get their grandchildren Mark and Lisa Birdsell of Wheaton, Illinois for a weeks visit. On Friday, July 23 they took them to Cedar Rapids where they left by plane for New York City to meet their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Birdsell, who have been in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he attended a Seminar at Harvard University. The family is now visiting points of interest in Philadelphia, Washington, D.

and Williamsburg, Virginia and other points of interest on their way home. We have enjoyed lovely weather the past week, with no rain; The farmers are busy, some finishing their first crop of hay, others on the second crop; Due to the earlier rains, field work has been much delayed; many are now combining the small grain.
