NEWS of SPORTS OAKHURSTS WIN DUAL HOLIDAY BILL AGAINST CANADIAN NINE Clowns Prove Amusing But No Match For cals in Doubleheader, Greenville's holiday baseball card brought about an abrupt Mion of the Oakhtitsts two-game losing streak as they turned in a brace of well-earned victories over the touring Canadian Clowns. The opening contest was little more than a for Mayertnen as they outdistanced the Clowns by 16-4. Coach "Chick" Kcclen made one of his periodical appearances on the motlhd and showed the fans that he Still has some of that old fire and spirit left. Keelen gave six hits in four innings and climaxed his performance with a home run and a triple in two turns at the William Me- a catcher from Kinsman, 0., his initial appearance with the club and gave a commendable account of himself. The nightcap resolved in a more interesting game than the first, and the Oakhursts Were forced to put on a three-run rally in the last inning to pull through to victory.

Bortz started for the Oakhursts but gave way to Baker after yielding five hits and four walks in the third. Baker was in trouble in the fifth when he walked three successive batsmen and hit another, forcing in one run. Trailing by two runs in the last frame, the Mayermen' pulled the game out the fire as McKinley led off with a single, Patterson doubled and BakerJaid, down a sacrifice bunt. Goda 'and Wilds each connected for base hits in adding to the cause. Bud Laycock's h'ome run, a long drive to the entrance gate, was a feature.
