Drops Gannett As Defendant District Judge Sam Paxson of 210th District Court yesterday dismissed Gannett Corp.. as a defendan: in a suit filed by Narconon, Inc., against several defendants. including The El Paso Times and two of its employes. Narconoa filed the suit as result of a series of articles which appeared in that newspaper. They seek damages in excess of S25 miliion. At the pre-trial hearing yesterday, Judge Paxson also ordered Narconon attorney, Bart Cox, to appear in court by June 10 to show authority for representing the organization as its attorney. Under Rule 12 of Civil Procedures, a defendant is entitled to know that the attorney for the plaintiff has such authority.
