Defendants Named In Named In Libel Suit Gannett Corp., owner of E l P a s o T i m newspaper's editor and a reporter, along with County Attorney George Rodriguez were named as defendants $25 million libel suit filed by Narconon in district court yesterday. Tbe suit results from two ·nicies written by reporter Steve Hallock ami published tfce Times on Oct. 7 and 8 1971. which the petition alleges wer» libclous in nature. Rodriguez, who i* named individually and as an agent Gannett Corp., is alleged to have re-published the articles on several occasions. The suit was submitted by Danny Vcnzor, executive director of Narconon, with Cox acting as attorney for plaintiffs. It asks $5 million general damages and $10 million in exemplary damages from the newspaper defedants and $10 million exemplary damages from the County Attorney.
