$25 Million Sought In Libel Suit The long-expected libel damage suit by Narconon, Inc., was filed today in 168th District Court against the El Paso Times, two of its employes, and County Attorney George Rodriguez Jr., who is named as "agent of the Times." By odd coincidence, through the new system of random selection of courts, the suit was filed in the court of Judge George Rodriguez, father of the county attorney. It will undoubtedly be moved to another court before going to trial. Named as defendants, with the Times, were editor William I. Latham and reporter Steve Hallock, both individually and as agents of the newspaper. The suit results from a series of articles written by Hallock which appeared in the Times. The petition charges that the articles were deritten. "to disgrace and the Narconon organization, and alleges that they were published "with malice." Narconon seeks damages. totaling $25 million.
